Many people equate STDs with immorality, promiscuous behavior and low social status. What are you thoughts on this statement?
I think there are a wide range of classes and backgrounds that individuals with sexually transmitted diseases come from. A person does not have to be poor to have an STD or does not have to be from a low social status either. They may be from the upper, middle, or lower class. I do not believe that it is related to immorality because they did not know that they were having a STD transmitted to them. If they did than it is wrong on their part and a risky behavior but STD's may be congenital or from intravenous drug use or the usual way is from sex. Some people that are not normally promiscuous may have gotten the STD from one or two times , who knows. Typically prostitution and drug use has been associated with STDs because of the individuals themselves who have it. STDs may fall upon to anyone who is not cautious and not protected.

To have a Baby or Not to have a Baby?
I am all for having a baby and as many as four or even five children hopefully in a later decade or so in my life. I love babies and kids because they are just adorable and I always wanted to have one or more as my own so when I am settled and married things will happen. I would definetly choose a hospital setting for my wife to give birth in. I need that safety and security blanket just as a precaution if complications were to occur. I would want my wife to choose a reliable doctor preferably one from an ObGy clinical background or one that specializes in pregnancy and birthing. Chosing my health care provider and where I will have my wife give birth is truly the most important decisions when dealing with pregnancy. I would never have her go through a water bath or home birth unless it was the last resort and we are stranded in the middle of no hospital which is highly unlikely these days.

Blog 3- How can we encourage adolescents to follow healthy behaviors? Any ideas for parents, healthcare providers, health educators, media, society
How can we encourage adolescents to follow healthy behaviors? Any ideas for parents, healthcare providers, health educators, media, society, etc?
We can encourage adolescents to follow healthy behaviors using the three prevention types which are primary prevention, secondary prevention, and tertiary prevention methods. With all the combination of these three prevention types, young adolescents will have a safer and more healthier life. If they are to live a healthy life that is nothing but quality, then these adolescents are to be encourage to eat healthy, exercise physically on a regular basis, and be taught and educated by certified health educators. Adolscents need to be motivated and encouraged to learn daily about new medical information and prevention. They need to be told and explained to why abusing harmful substances cause death and it causes you to become dumb overtime.
Family plays a key role in keeping their children informed about the negatives in society and life and also keeping a light over into the positives such as eating healthy and taking vitamins and minerals with a balanced nutritous diet. Media can promote these things as they are already in certain teen and kids programming during the mornings or in the afternoon when school is out. Society needs to implement these plans and programs to adolescents so it sticks with them like a skill they carry for the rest of their life because after all it is your health.

Blog 2- Do you believe healthcare is a right or privelage?
I personally feel healthcare is a right and it can never be a privelage first but only after it is a right. I say this because this is the only country that does not offer free healthcare and has providers that charge too high premiums for their insurance plans. This has always been an ongoing issue in America. We should be allowed free doctor examinations whenever we need to have them. It is vital to have a healthy country and the only way to have this is to allow everyone access to insurance to the full coverage. No one should be allowed partial coverage because that is just unfair to those that can not afford high plans because it can cost an arm and a leg. Why do other countries lead in the way of healthcare for their counrty's men, women, and children. Being hospitalized is thought to be devasting already and when you add up all the high expensive costs that is more of a reason to panic and to be put in debt to this counrty due to having a screwed up system. Healthcare is a right and along with that goes the privelage of having free healthcare which we will not see anytime soon unless Congress decides to make it their most important topic and issue. The elderly can not support themselves only on social security and Medicaid and Medicare. We need to address this problem thoroughly and make neccessary changes as soon as possible so everyone can have equal access to hospitals and healthcare.

Kiran's Blogger...Finally here
I am concerned with getting in shape mostly these days. I want to be more toned and fit so to do this I am allowing myself to a healthy diet (on most days). I have been working out a few times a week, although not really a cardio work out but just weights and benching. In my family, there are a few concerns with high blood pressure and cholesterol. So this is a big issue for me as I advance through life and my college years which are supposed to be the worse years for health with some students. I say this because people do not always eat healthy and have bad habbits. I am only 21 going on 22 in a couple months so I want to progress through living a healthy quality life.
Interview with: Dhruvi, Age 19
When I talked to my friend Dhruvi, she told me that she was concerned with her weight even though she is not under or overweight. To me she is a perfect size, but recently she thinks she has been having flucuating weight while she traveled over her break. She wants to start eating a more healthy diet just as I wish to do. Dhruvi gets some cardio work out some days by walking on a treadmill. She told me she sleeps for a few hours each day after class or work. I found this wierd because she is really tired everyday in the afternoons and she is still very young.
Interview with: Lisa, Age 21
In my interview with Lisa she told me she was always thin and have never been overwieghed or have not had any health concerns. I have known her for a few years now and she has never been really sick except with an occasional cold or sinus problem etc. She told me eating healthy and exercising are the main things she stays focused on. We all had this in common.
