To have a Baby or Not to have a Baby?

I am all for having a baby and as many as four or even five children hopefully in a later decade or so in my life. I love babies and kids because they are just adorable and I always wanted to have one or more as my own so when I am settled and married things will happen. I would definetly choose a hospital setting for my wife to give birth in. I need that safety and security blanket just as a precaution if complications were to occur. I would want my wife to choose a reliable doctor preferably one from an ObGy clinical background or one that specializes in pregnancy and birthing. Chosing my health care provider and where I will have my wife give birth is truly the most important decisions when dealing with pregnancy. I would never have her go through a water bath or home birth unless it was the last resort and we are stranded in the middle of no hospital which is highly unlikely these days.

It is great to get a mans perspective on this topic. I am with you on the hospital birth...I have seen shows where they have the home births with other children helping and water births with a midwife, too weird for me!!! I too will want the security of a NICU and highly trained medical professionals to attend to me and my child. My husband and I agree on this issue.

I totally diagree with someone having six or even five kids. Men tend to not realize the difficulty and additional stress women go through during pregnancy and after birth. I think it is better to have home births with a physician because it is more personal and a relaxing environment for the mother.
